This will be my first trip to Japan and I've purposely budgeted on hotels so that we could spend money on food. I often choose Japanese food over any other type of food and on our trip to Hilo last year, I was delighted with our find of Miyos - a fantastic Japanese restaurant overlooking the water.
I chose the dinner special of Shrimp and Veggie Tempura, Sesame Chicken, Agedashi Tofu, and Sashimi
Just thinking of the meal makes me excited for my trip to Japan. I already know there will be lots of pictures and lots of stories. The only thing I hesitate about trying is blowfish (Fugu). I really want to try it, but if it's not prepared right, it can cause death. A little scary but supposedly it's really delicious. Rather a tough decision. Hmm... I guess I'll let you guys know in March if I actually tried it!

Ooh...yumm! Can't wait to eat vicariously through you during your Japan trip. And don't feel any pressure to eat any fugu - it's just not worth it really. :)
Nadine, that's awesome! A once-in-a-lifetime trip, it sounds like. And I love that you're so adventurous. Just be careful with that blowfish!
I cannot WAIT to hear all about the trip!
Your dinners here look awesome. I'm gonna have to convince Ibis to take me for sushi.
Fun trip plans- can't wait to hear about it!
Alisha - good to know about the fugu. I'm thinking it might be a miss.
Janna - It's our first big trip in a while and may or may not coincide with a certain person turning 30... :) And even if I don't try the blowfish, I'm certain there will be many unique other foods that I'll photograph! Yay!
Melanie - Can't wait to go and experience it all! And yes, I think you need to go to sushi!! Yum!!
Colby - I'm so excited! We're going to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara and Kurashiki.
